Here’s All You Should Know Before Attending the 2021 NASCAR Cup Race at Richmond Raceway

This weekend, the NASCAR Cup Series paddock visits the Richmond Raceway. Of course, the world is still in the vice-like grip of the COVID-19 virus so every public event has to tiptoe around the issue. Ahead of the race weekend the Richmond Raceway issued a statement thanking fans for their support.

The circuit venue is excited to be one of the few tracks to host fans for this weekend’s race. Of course, there is still a ceiling on the number of fans who can attend the race. This also blankets some popular amenities, in favor of having the ability to safely welcome back drivers, teams, and guests.

Obviously, the Richmond Raceway is following the state of Virginia’s COVID safety requirements. However, it is worth mentioning that they differ from the federal guidelines.

How is Richmond tackling the situation ahead of the NASCAR race?

First and foremost, the track authorities are working with the state health and government officials. They want to ensure that the venue can provide a safe experience for all attending NASCAR fans. So, the safety measures include reduced seating and camping capacities with social distancing. Furthermore, all guests have to mandatorily bring and wear face coverings.

Additionally, no opaque bags are allowed, though people are permitted to carry coolers. Another rule was that people were not allowed to tailgating others while on the property. In addition to that, cars will be directed to specific, spaced-out parking lots. For obvious reasons, every guest receives a mandatory screening before entering the gates.

In terms of hygiene, the raceway authorities have set up multiple hand washing and hand sanitizing stations. To take matters more seriously, they have even deployed a “Clean Team” of staff, dedicated to guests. Their job is to help clean or disinfect spectators at all times

All said and done, the Richmond Raceway is hoping that everything runs smoothly. Everyday, the COVID-19 infection toll is rising, despite the presence of vaccines.
