The Great British Bake Off star Syabira broke down in tears when she had a wobble over her Showstopper.

Syabira is among the cast of 12 amateur bakers trying to impress judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood in the famous tent.

On Tuesday’s episode, the wannabe pasty chefs were tasked with Mexican Week and made a variety of delicious dishes from the South American country.

The bakers were first set the challenge of producing a pan dulce for The Signature and later made tacos for The Technical and a tres leches cake for The Showstopper.

However, Syabira, 32, ran into a spot of bother while making her sweetcorn tres leches cake, which raised a few eyebrows from Prue and Paul over the unusual ingredient.

With the clock ticking, Syabira, who hails from Malaysia, started panicking when her bake wasn’t going as planned.

Syabira started to cry when she grew concerned that her cake would be dry, with Abdul rushing over to comfort her.

Fortunately, the sweetcorn and cinnamon cake managed to convert Paul and Prue to the flavour of sweetcorn, with Syabira sailing through to the next round.

Rebs and James were both eliminated after no bakers left the show last week, while Maxy was awarded Star Baker.

The Great British Bake Off continues on Monday at 8pm on Channel 4
