This Morning viewers have slammed Alison Hammond for comments she made about not noticing £10,000 going missing from her bank account.

Alison had been chatting to co-host Dermot O’Leary and guests Gyles Brandreth and Carol Vorderman when she made the comment, amid a rising cost of living crisis.

‘So I got my car serviced,’ Alison began, continuing: ‘And I paid for the service and didn’t notice till they phoned me that they charged me £10,000 for the service.

‘I hadn’t checked my bank.’

‘£10,000?!’ a stunned Carol exclaimed, before Alison added: ‘They charged me £10,000 they noticed a month later and phoned me up and said, “We’ve overcharged you. It was £1,000 and we’ve charged you £10,000.”‘

She continued: ‘And I didn’t even notice. But that’s nice that they phoned me back.’

Of course, viewers were pretty stunned at her comments coming at a time when people across the nation are struggling.

‘I’d love to see someone take 10K out of my bank without it being noticed. try taking a £100 at the moment and it would be declined,’ one person wrote.

‘If you don’t notice £10,000 taken from your account you must have a heck of a lot of money in there!’ another shared.

Alison’s comments, and the backlash afterwards, come amid the rising cost of living crisis with many people anxious about paying bills this winter and drastically cutting back on spending money, especially in the run up to Christmas.
