‘Regrets? No’ – Los Angeles Rams COO Reveals Jared Goff Contract Deal

Los Angeles Rams secured a major coup by trading for Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. The Florida-born player is a proven talent in the NFL over the last decade or so. But the same can’t be said for Jared Goff.

The 2016 1st overall pick threw for 3,952 yards with 20 passing TDs against 13 interceptions in 2020. He was traded to the Lions in exchange for Goff along with two first-round picks, and a third-round pick.

In 2019, Goff agreed to a 4-year extension worth $134 million featuring $110 million in guarantees. Despite popular opinion, the Rams claim that they don’t regret the deal.

No regrets with respect to the Jared Goff contract deal ahead of Lions move

In a recent interview, Los Angeles Ram COO Kevin Demoff spoke about the situation surrounding former quarterback Jared Goff. When asked if the Rams regret offering Goff a long-term extension just 2 years ago, Demoff had an immediate response.

“Every time a player doesn’t finish the deal that they signed, you probably wish they had. Regrets? No. Jared has been a great piece to our franchise. You can’t be caught up in decisions you’ve made in the past, because things change,” Demoff said via the Los Angeles Times.
