Brad Pitt couldn’t have tried to get away faster from avoiding an interview with Formula 1 commentator Martin Brundle at the Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Hollywood actor was spotted walking on the grid during the US event at the weekend when the ever-determined host attempted to bag an on-the-spot interview live on air.

Mr Bundle eagerly followed Pitt with his microphone at the ready and began shouting questions about his upcoming F1 film, produced by Lewis Hamilton.

‘Can you tell us a bit about this movie?’ Mr Brundle asked.

Keeping tight-lipped, Pitt replied: ‘No, not yet! Top secret.’

‘You’ve enjoyed the weekend, I’ve seen you so much this weekend,’ Mr Brundle said, waving his mic in Pitt’s direction.

‘Thank you, man,’ the star said as he quickly walked away.

Eventually, Mr Brundle gave up his attempts and even noted that somebody was ‘grabbing onto my shoulder’.

That didn’t stop him from making a tongue-in-cheek remark about the situation though.

‘Obviously they’re known as “pitt stops” if they don’t want you talking to Brad Pitt,’ Mr Brundle quipped.

Many F1 fans were raging at Pitt’s behaviour and condemned his actions on social media.

‘If Brad Pitt can’t talk to Martin Brundle, he and his movie can f*ck right off,’ one declared.

‘Brad Pitt is making a movie on F1 and he doesn’t want to interact with @MBrundleF1 on the grid,’ another said. ‘If you are on the grid, you need to be open to talking to the media. Or what else are you there for. Clicking photos?’

Another said: ‘I thought Brad Pitt was bloody rude and curt to our very polite Mr @MBrundleF1 – seems only the US celebs feel they’re above the whole grid walk thang, rest of the world respect the grid.’

Some, however, defended the actor. ‘Brad Pitt did not diss Martin Brundle. He acknowledged Martin, was cordial, and moved on,’ one insisted.
