I’m plus-size & compared Kim Kardashian’s Skims bodysuit to Lizzo’s Yitty – which brand hid my real body & in a bad way

A PLUS-SIZE content creator put two major shapewear brands to the test: Skims versus Yitty.

And though she had positive things to say about each, she had a clear favorite.

Raven compared bodysuit shapewear from Skims and YittyTikTok

Raven, who goes by the TikTok handle @ravenboo, creates body positive content and compared shapewear from Kim Kardashian’s established Skims brand and Lizzo’s newer Yitty brand.

In her initial Skims TikTok review, she tried on the Sculpting Bodysuit with snaps in a size 2X/3X.

Wearing the $62 Skims piece, Raven said: “Let me tell you, it was a struggle getting this b**ch on. I had to squeeze and push and pull and tuck.”

After sharing her thoughts on the initial fit, she put a bodycon dress on over the bodysuit to get a clearer idea of how it looked in action.

Overall, she said she enjoyed how the bodysuit snatched her waist and lifted her butt under clothing.

But later, she shared her Yitty bodysuit review in a follow-up video – and admitted her thoughts on Skims had changed, especially after comparing it directly to Yitty.

“Okay you guys asked for it … Let’s do a Skims versus Yitty comparison,” she said.

“I had a couple of complaints about Skims,” she said, adding: “I felt like it kind of cut into my sides a little bit and rolled up my hips too much.”

“So, I’m very curious to see how this will go in comparison,” she said before trying on Yitty’s Nearly Naked Shaping Thong Bodysuit.

The shapewear costs $64.95 full-price if you’re not a paying Fabletics member.

Wearing the similar-looking cream-colored bodysuit, Raven admitted: “Okay, right off the bat, you guys, this one is so much more comfortable. I feel like I can breathe in this one.

“I don’t know what it was about the Skims, but Skims made me feel like – it’s hard to explain – like they were trying to hide my fat and push it away,” she explained.

Raven said that the Yitty bodysuit instead felt like it was nicely outlining her natural curves.

She said: “I love my body, I love my stomach … I’ve learned to love me … I don’t want you to feel like you need to shapewear.

“The moral of the story is, love your body for how it looks, but if shapewear makes you feel good, wear shapewear.”

Then Raven put on the same dress from her Skims review over the Yitty bodysuit.

The bodysuit seemed to have less compression around the stomach compared to the Skims one, but Raven still liked it.

“Are you kidding?” she asked, impressed with the look. “It’s not overly tight and it just feels like a hug, it’s very comfortable.”

When she removed the shapewear and showed what the dress looked like without undergarments, she showed the dramatic difference, but also had a revelation.

While she said she loved the Yitty piece, Raven said: “I just don’t think I would personally wear shapewear under a dress. It just feels like it goes against everything that I stand for.”

“I love what you mean by not trying to hide anything, but to outline our body,” one person commented on the video, grateful for Raven’s body positivity.
