I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Boy George has revealed he likens himself to former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher ahead of making his debut in the jungle. Yes, really.

The Chameleon signer is among the famous faces on the line-up for the upcoming series, which is returning to Australia for the first time in two years.

While Boy George has already joked it would be funny if his ex-boyfriend Jon Moss joined him Down Under, he’s also compared himself to the late controversial Conservative leader, Thatcher.

‘I am a bit like Margaret Thatcher – I don’t sleep a lot,’ he shared. ‘I find sleep a bit of a hindrance because I can’t get things done when I am asleep. I do like to chant, and I will find a corner to do it in camp.’

He continued: ‘I do fast a lot at home and weirdly I am nicer when I don’t eat! I am quite a good cook but I will never inflict what I make on other people.

‘I can make some really disgusting things. Some people open my fridge and scream! That said, I do know I will miss my phone, espressos, goat’s cheese and feta cheese whilst I am away.’

Admitting it will be the first time he has ever been in a jungle, Boy George added that he will be using a novel technique to find out whether he will get on with his fellow campmates or not – by finding out what star sign they are.

‘I will be 1000% asking them what star sign they are,’ he insisted, revealing he is a Gemini.

‘Star signs give you an idea of who people might be. But I am going to really try not to get wound up in camp. I like to think I am a positive person.’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns on Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
