The BBC’s gripping new drama SAS Rogue Heroes continues tonight, following overwhelming praise for episode one.
The six-part series documents the remarkable true story of the creation of the Special Air Service (SAS), centering on legendary founder David Stirling.
In the series, the ruthless Stirling is played by Connor Swindells – a role that the actor described as ‘intense’.
But who is Connor, and where have you seen him before?

Who is Connor Swindells?
Connor Ryan Swindells is a 26-year-old actor and model.
Despite his character in the show being Scottish, Connor Swindells is from Lewes, East Sussex – a small town just outside Brighton.

His mother sadly died from bowel cancer when he was seven years old. Following her death, he and his father went to live with Connor’s paternal grandparents in West Chiltington until moving out to Billingshurst, both in the Horsham District of West Sussex.
Connor started acting when he saw an audition poster for a local play and his friend dared him to audition – the talented young man landed the lead role, and a passion for the craft was born.
What has Connor Swindells starred in?
You may best recognise Connor for playing Adam Groff on the immensely popular Netflix comedy-drama series Sex Education.
Adam is the rebellious and reckless – and, possibly, misunderstood – son of headteacher Michael Groff.
Connor has also had roles in Harlots, Jamestown, Emma, and The Vanishing.
He’s set to appear in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie alongside Sex Education co-stars Ncuti Gatwa and Emma Mackey – Connor has remained tight-lipped about what role he’s playing in the Margot Robbie-led movie.

Is Connor Swindells dating anyone?
Connor isn’t publicly dating anyone right now and, if his social media is anything to go by, appears to be single.
His most public previous relationship was with on-screen and off-screen girlfriend Aimee Lou Wood, who plays Aimee Gibbs on Sex Education.

According to Hello Magazine, the two decided to go their separate ways after two years of dating.
Aimee confirmed their breakup in 2020, telling Stylist, ‘Oh it is [sad].
‘It’s very, very amicable, and I love him so much, but it still hurts.’
SAS Rogue Heroes continues tonight on BBC One at 9pm.
