Peter Andre has admitted he got ‘anxiety’ watching I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here 18 years after he appeared on the show, admitting he wouldn’t be able to do the trials that the celebs are put through now.

The Mysterious Girl hitmaker is one of the show’s most iconic contestants, appearing in 2004 alongside stars like his ex, Katie Price, and Kerry Katona.

However, he’s been left rather ‘freaked out’ watching the trials, admitting he’d have already ‘failed’ this year.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Peter reflected: ‘It’s unbelievable. When I think about how I felt last night watching the guys go in and watching Chris Moyles, thinking “Okay, he’s got the VIP, yeah it’s gonna be a bit dodgy but it can’t be as bad as the people walking on the plank.”

‘Which let me tell you, we didn’t do 17, 18 years ago. For me, that freaked me out, I was feeling anxiety 12,000 miles away. Then, when Chris and Olivia [Attwood] got put in the helicopter to jump out at 10,000 feet, I thought, “I couldn’t do this. I’d fail at that point.”

‘I would have never got that far. So well done to them, because that was scary stuff.’

Asked his advice, Peter joked: ‘Don’t do it!’ before sincerely adding: ‘My top tip would be just say yes to things.’

While Peter admitted he wouldn’t make it very far on the show these days, his kids Junior and Princess are keen to give it a go, previously telling Metro.co.uk they’d ‘100%’ love to star on the series.

The first episode of I’m A Celebrity saw celebs including Boy George, Mike Tindall, Chris Moyles, Olivia Attwood, and Jill Scott arrive in Australia.

While some of them faced eye-watering heights, including walking the plank and jumping out of a helicopter, others were faced with creepy critters.

The drama certainly won’t end there, as former health minister Matt Hancock is expected to arrive mid-week alongside comedian and Strictly Come Dancing star Seann Walsh.

Elsewhere on Good Morning Britain, Susanna was left fuming at the reports that Mr Hancock has been allowed to keep his phone and his laptop in quarantine to ‘continue working’ as part of a deal with ITV.

A source told the Daily Mail: ‘Matt has been given a different arrangement during his isolation period to the other contestants. He has been allowed his phone and laptop so that he can carry on working and keep in touch with his constituents.’

Presenting on Good Morning Britain alongside Ed Balls, Susanna addressed Mr Hancock’s absence on last night’s show, saying: ‘I think a lot of people last night were wondering, “Where’s Matt Hancock?”‘

Ed responded: ‘I know, he’s in quarantine, apparently on his phone!’ with a shocked Susanna replying: ‘That’s not allowed!’

‘I know, I think that’s going to go down quite badly in the camp,’ Ed reflected.

Susanna went on: ‘Well, the fact that he’s in there has gone down quite badly with the Prime Minister.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am. I’m A Celebrity returns tonight at 9pm on ITV.
