Loose Women stars Coleen Nolan and Jane Moore are cheering on their pal Charlene White as she prepares to come face-to-face with Matt Hancock on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The former Health Secretary, who was forced to quit last year after breaking his own Covid rules, is reportedly set to enter the Australian jungle today meaning viewers will finally see the politician be confronted by his fellow campmates in Wednesday night’s episode.

Perhaps first in line will be ITV News presenter Charlene, who is predicted to sit Mr Hancock down by the fireside to ask all the burning questions the public wants answers to.

Teasing what could possibly come, Charlene’s Loose Women co-host Coleen told Metro.co.uk at the MITS Awards honouring the late Jamal Edwards: ‘I think if anyone’s going to grill him it’ll be Charlene definitely because at the end of the day, she’s a news reporter.

‘She’s good and she enjoys interviewing people so I think if anyone’s going to get anything out of Matt, it’ll be her.’

Her co-host Jane agreed: ‘He came on the show and I think Charlene was anchoring that day. She’s a journalist so she’ll ask him whatever she wants to ask him and I’m sure she’ll get down to the nitty gritty at some point.

‘Whether or not they put it in the edit remains to be seen but she’s a newsreader, she’s a journalist, she’s a tough cookie so great.’

An ITV insider recently said that Charlene will particularly want to challenge Mr Hancock as she was forced to social distance at her aunt’s funeral, while he was caught breaking his own rules and kissing ministerial aide Gina Coladangelo, who is now his partner.

During the first episode of I’m A Celeb, Charlene was seen smashing the first trial where she had to balance on a ledge on top of a skyscraper.

Her incredible will and determination impressed her Loose Women besties as much as viewers, with Coleen praising: ‘I was watching it last night and couldn’t get over how brave she was. I literally could not, I was so proud of her and if she keeps going like that I think she could go really far because that was amazing.

‘Especially when they pulled the drawbridge back so she couldn’t go anywhere and then said you couldn’t let go. Not for me that, I’d be like “no, no, no”.’

Jane added: ‘Boy, did she smash it and I just read that she was standing there for 45 minutes waiting for Babatunde to make his mind up or not. She was already held in high esteem by me but she’s rocketed now because standing on that little tilty ledge for 45 minutes, my God that is incredible.

‘Balls of steel.’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here returns to ITV tonight at 9pm.
