Ted Nugent has launched a furious response to claims he labelled Covid-19 a hoax after he tested positive for the virus.

The rocker called the ongoing pandemic ‘not a real pandemic’ and told his fans he will not be taking the vaccine.

Describing his symptoms after testing positive, he said he ‘thought he was dying’ and ‘could hardly crawl out of bed’ for a few days.

In a new video update on Facebook Live, Nugent revealed he was still trying to shake off the virus, detailing he ‘blew enough snot out of my nose to replace the Everglades that they destroyed in Florida.’

The musician denied he had ever said Covid-19 wasn’t real, telling followers: ‘The lies I’ve seen, that I’ve been doing that I’ve been doing these public appearances knowing I had the Covid-19. False. Seeing that I claimed Covid-19 was a hoax. False.

‘I’ve always said…we actually have footage of me saying if not hundreds, but thousands of times. Of course there’s a Chinese virus. Hello? Who thinks that I claimed there is no Chinese virus? There’s a Chinese virus. We call it Covid-19, I’m well aware of that.’

He also clarified his comment about ‘Covids one through 18’ having questioned why lockdown measures in the US weren’t taken for ‘Covids prior’.

Covid-19 is the given name for the disease by the World Health Organisation. The number 19 represents the year the virus was first discovered – 2019.

The name is made up of the first letters of the words ‘coronavirus’, ‘virus’ and ‘disease’. It had previously been referred to as ‘2019-nCoV’ by health authorities examining its cause.

Revealing he had tested positive this week, the musician called it ‘a pain in the ass’.

Nugent previously praised ‘American families’ who ‘don’t earmark a safety net during a scammy pandemic’ in his earlier video.

He ranted: ‘It’s not a real pandemic and that’s not a real vaccine, I’m sorry.

‘I ain’t taking no vaccine. You come at me with a needle and I will be in fear of my life. You know what I’ll do if you come at me with a needle. “Hi I’m from the government, this needle’s good for you”. F**k you.’

He also labelled British people ‘sheep’ for wearing face masks and said there was ‘almost no racism at all in America’ as he had not witnessed racist incidents himself.
