WWE legend William Regal sold his soul to the devil and helped MJF capture the AEW World Championship in shocking scenes at Full Gear.

The Gentleman Villain, who has served as the leader of Blackpool Combat Club for months alongside Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli, turned his back on Mox as Maxwell Jacob Friedman was crowned champion.

Regal and MJF had a fiery exchange playing up their intense past last month, but on Saturday night the veteran handed the 25-year-old star some brass knuckles which cost Moxley his title.

It was a shocking end to the show, but a welcome one for fans who were desperate to see MJF – whose All Elite Wrestling contract is set to expire in January 2024 – get his big moment.

It made for a fascinating dynamic in their match, with Mox working more as the villain while his brash opponent was cheered by the crowd in the early goings of the bout.

In the end, MJF got his win, and after the show ended he mocked fans who believed him when he previously claimed to want to win fair and square without the help of The Firm.

Wait, what just happened?

Speaking in a media scrum after Full Gear, he told reporters: ‘Goddamn, you people are f**king dumb. No offense. Are you f**kers stupid? You morons bit on every single word I had to say this past couple of months, huh?

‘”I wanna earn it.” “I wanna…” f**k that! I deserve it because I’m the best wrestler in the f**king world. Every single one of you know it. On the microphone, in the ring, nobody can touch me. That’s a fact, nobody is on my level.’

MJF – who will be starring alongside Zac Efron in upcoming movie The Iron Claw – dismissed the idea of answering questions, instead insisting fans would have to tune into AEW Dynamite to find out why he’s aligned with Regal.

‘You think I give a s**t? If you want to know anything about the most important man in professional wrestling, you have to tune in to the MJF show, that’s every Wednesday on TBS. You know damn well that it’s destination TV,’ he said.

He then insisted on Sunday morning he’ll be hopping on a jet and going to his ‘goddamn movie set’, and added: ‘Anybody got any questions? Just kidding. Thank you. F**k you. Bye.’
