Ronan and Storm Keating’s Emeralds & Ivy Ball extravaganza has raised £702,450 in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Hosted in partnership with the Marie Keating Foundation, the star-studded annual fundraising event made its return on Saturday November 19.

Guests were treated to an evening of glamorous entertainment and fine dining at Old Billingsgate in London as they came together to raise money for the important cause.

BBC One Show presenter, Alex Jones was this year’s hostess with the mostest and the event itself followed a theme aimed at replicating the iconic nights at Studio 54.

Ronan said of the event’s success: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to reveal that this year’s Emeralds & Ivy ball has raised an incredible £702,450 for Cancer Research UK.

‘Since the first ball was held in 2006, we’ve raised a staggering £11million for Cancer Research UK’s Cancer Awareness Roadshow.

‘All the money helps fund teams of nurses who share vital information about cancer with people in their own communities.

‘Once again, Storm and I are blown away by the support we’ve had for this event – and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of it.

‘We’re very grateful to have been able to raise so much money to help beat cancer.’

Among the famous faces to take the stage throughout the evening were Alfie Boe, Aston Merrygold and Ronan himself.

Celebrating with the former Boyzone band member and his wife was also Adele Roberts, who received the all-clear from bowel cancer earlier this year, along with Nadine Coyle, Jeremy Kyle, Victoria Smurfit, Alan Hansen, Jacquie Beltrao, Ellis Ranson and Yinka Bokinni.

Everyone in the room was invited to bid for exclusive prizes in live and silent auctions to raise funds for cancer research.

The event holds personal significance for Ronan, after his mother, Marie Keating, died from breast cancer in 1998, aged just 51.

Following her death, the star and his family have dedicated time to organising events such as this to deliver information about early diagnosis and prevention.

Since the ball’s inaugural event in 2006, Emeralds & Ivy has raised more than £11million in support of Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.
