The festive season is an exciting time of year with functions, dinners and drinks at every turn but with so many events, making sure you have enough party-ready outfits without spending a fortune can be a challenge. Enter Tu.

Tapping into trends we saw on the Autumn/Winter catwalk, this edit rivals any Christmas collection while keeping each piece below £30.

Tailoring is one of our favourite trends for a put together but comfortable look so a blazer is a must in your wardrobe. For something more flamboyant, it’s a well known fact that sequins never really go out of style, so opt for a skirt or trousers covered in them as the centrepiece of your outfit.

Christmas is such a special time because although there are lots of events to dress up for, it’s also the time of year when cosying up at home draped in a blanket with a hot drink in front of a heartwarming film is just as enjoyable.

Snuggle up in TU’s festive pyjamas or one of its classic Christmas jumpers and rest easy knowing you haven’t spent an arm and a leg to feel this comfortable.

We’ve cherry picked some of our favourite festive gems from the collection so you can treat yourself to some Christmas season staples without breaking the bank.

1. Teal velvet wide leg coord trousers

We love these!

Wide leg trousers are so on trend right now and aside from looking mega chic, are comfortable and easy to wear with a pair of heels for an evening do.

Add crushed velvet, the quieter older sister of sequins, to the mix and you’ve got yourself a party season staple. While the indulgent material still sparkles like its bolder relative does, it’s not quite as energetic in its delivery.

Style with a relaxed satin shirt and heels for evening drinks, or a teal blazer – more on that further down – for an enviable outfit.

2. Teal velvet high neck midi dress

A proper party piece

Wrapping comfort and style into one, this tiered midi dress subtly plays with the corset trend we’ve seen all over the Autumn/Winter ’22 catwalks.

With a thin elasticated band around the waist and just above the chest, it gives the impression of a corseted section which means it creates a fitted shape around the top, before billowing out and cinching back in around mid-thigh for a waterfall effect.

Available in sizes UK8 to UK22 and coming in at just £26 it’s a day to night must have.

3. Christmas oatmeal après ski jumper

Feeling festive!

Is Christmas truly Christmas without a Christmas jumper (try saying that after a few mulled wines)? Of course not. Although some can be a little garish, the après ski design from Tu sits nicely between festive and wearable.

With classic nordic snowflake and Christmas trees printed all over, the high neck and cuffed sleeves keep out the cold and long sleeves make it perfect for layering.

Wear it out and about or for a cozy night in – it’s certainly cheaper than putting on the heating.

4. Women’s teal blazer

A classic!

Tailoring and hard shoulders were all over Autumn/Winter catwalks, so a standout blazer is a must in your evening wardrobe.

For a festive upgrade from a regular black blazer, opt for this flattering teal shade either done up with nothing underneath or as a chic extra layer.

It has two pockets which aren’t just for decoration as well as two statement buttons for a fitted look. We love these paired with the wide leg velvet trousers for a monochromatic outfit.

5. Christmas women’s family red candy cane jumper

CAn you beat a good Christmas jumpers?

A more colourful Christmas jumper than the après ski offering, this candy cane design is more of a sweater than a jumper.

It has a high but round neck which keeps the length of your neck open and is a tighter fit for a boxier finish. Red and blue stripes offset the white nordic silhouettes and bolder candy cane pattern.

And is there anything more on brand for the festive season than a Christmas jumper that literally says ‘Merry Christmas’? We think not.

6. Fuchsia pink velvet high neck midi dress

We love this!

We’re here to tell you that Barbiecore wasn’t just for summer; the eye-catching trend is still going strong as we head towards party season.

A standout colour that will get everyone’s heads turning for all the right reasons, this midi dress comes in a range of sizes from UK8 to UK22.

We love accentuating the high waist with a thin belt for a fitted silhouette, or to lean into the relaxed, oversized style that is loved by fashion editors, leave it loose. Mega versatile, this dress makes a statement without any fuss.

7. Olive green geometric satin jacquard midi dress

This is so luxe!

Satin is the material that says elegant and composed and this 70s inspired midi dress is no exception.

With a tasteful cut out that spotlights the high neck, puff sleeves for an added detail and a tie waist to add shape, there’s no better dress for party season. Wear with hair up to really elongate the neck and show off the peek-a-boo cut out on the back.

Exclusively available online, there aren’t loads of sizes left of this piece so be quick if you want to be one of the lucky ones that gets to add this beautiful frock to their wardrobe.

8. Christmas women’s family red reindeer pyjamas

Super cute!

We’re back to our cosy collection with these ultra-cute reindeer pyjamas. Who said kids get to have all the fun?

Cut in a classic, mid-20th century pyjama shape, the collared top has elbow length, roomy sleeves and is cropped to just sit on the elasticated waistline of the bottoms.

The bottoms are full length and straight for comfort. We want a pair to jump into before watching a festive favourite in front of the fire. For £16, why not?

9. Black patent heeled boots

We’re obsessed

If you don’t love strappy heels but do like to add some height to your party – or everyday – outfits then a pair of heeled boots needs to be added to your basket pronto.

To add an extra something to a classic black boot, opt for a patent pair like these for shine without too much drama. The heel is a sizeable, but more than manageable, 7cm and thick enough that you won’t find yourself stumbling like with thinner heels.

Throw on with a midi skirt, dress or trousers to dress up any look without compromising on comfort – or price.

10. Hot pink sequin pencil skirt

Christmas is for sequins!

Here she is, the material you’ve all been waiting for and a party season staple: sequins.

We’re very much of the mindset that if you’re going to do sequins, you might as well really do them, so why go for anything less than a glittering pink midi skirt?

With a modest slit up to the knee to make walking a breeze (no waddling here), wear with silver boots, heels or a silver jacket for the ultimate Christmas ensemble. There’s no dressing this one down and that’s what we love about it.

You’ll be getting compliments left, right and centre – trust us.

11. Christmas women’s mini me pink ginger bread pyjamas

Feeling comfy!

As the old adage from Mean Girls stipulates, Wednesday is the day everyone should be wearing pink, but with these cute, full length pjs you’ll be wanting to break the rules and wear pink everyday.

Decorated with little gingerbread treats, throw this cosy set on while you nosh on the biscuit to match, with fairy lights twinkling and your Christmas tree standing festively in the corner.

If that utopic image hasn’t fully swayed you, did we mention that these pyjamas only cost £16?

12. Cobalt blue jacquard satin midi dress

We love this colour!

Cobalt blue is such a flattering colour whatever your skin tone which is why this midi dress will suit just about everyone.

There are two ties at the front to not only fasten the dress closed but to also add an extra detail and the crushed satin shimmers against the light.

Stick to high heels for an evening do or for a day event, wear some super on-trend chunky boots for something a little more casual.
