Cardi B feels ‘so hopeless’ trying to comfort husband Offset after Takeoff’s death-Rishma Dosani-Entertainment – Metro

Cardi B shared her heartache at seeing husband Offset cry, following the death of his Migos bandmate, Takeoff.
The musician, 28, was shot and killed during an incident at an afterparty in Houston earlier this month, with his uncle and fellow Migos member Quavo also in attendance.
Following his death, Quavo, 31, and Offset, 30, have stepped back from the spotlight to grieve, with the latter pushing back his scheduled album release out of respect.
In a now-deleted Twitter voice note, Cardi opened up about their loss, explaining that she feels ‘so hopeless’ while trying to comfort her partner.
‘No lie, I have been feeling so hopeless trying to make my husband happy, trying to make him to crack a smile,’ the Bodak Yellow rapper, 30, said in the audio, which was picked up by the Neighborhood Talk.
‘‘F**king seeing him randomly cry, seeing him trying to distract his mind, completely f**king schedule been changing, trying to keep up with work after everything that he’s been going through these past couple of weeks.

‘We’re not in the mood to be f**king playing around with y’all [sic].’
The mom-of-two also fumed at how ‘desensitized’ everyone has become to Takeoff’s shooting, slamming their responses on social media.
‘We’re living our life normally, but deep down inside, our hearts have been so heavy,’ she continued.
‘I feel like if I talk about – the incident is so desensitized – I feel like if we talk about how we really feel, what motherf**kers really been going through, y’all will start saying, “Oh sympathy, oh sympathy,” and we don’t want no sympathy. We ain’t no charity case [sic].’

In the wake of his death, Takeoff was honored at the recent American Music Awards, with many using the opportunity to pay tribute to the late rapper.
Wayne Brady, who served as host, told the audience: ‘We recently lost Kirsnick Khari Ball, better known as Takeoff, of the groundbreaking hip-hop group Migos.

‘On behalf of all of us that love hip-hop all around the world, we thank you, Takeoff, for your artistry.’
The presenter concluded: ‘Tonight, we honor your memory. We have to stop this senseless and terrible gun violence.’
