Kane has been hit by misconduct allegations over his role as Knox County mayor.

The WWE legend – whose real name is Glenn Jacobs – has moved into politics as a Republican and got elected mayor of the county in Tennessee four years ago, and was reelected over the summer.

As reported by Knox News, Jacobs was accused of asking county employees to work at his home while on the clock, and he allegedly pressured a department head to lie to state investigators.

It’s also claimed he swore at the individual when he refused to lie.

The allegations have been revealed after a federal lawsuit settled by the county as they agreed to pay $150,000 to former Parks and Recreation director Paul White.
The case was settled last week, with deputy law directors Houston Havasy and David Wigler denying any illegal activity.

Meanwhile, a county spokesperson told Knox News that the work done at Jacobs’ home – including removing a snake from his house – was done on the workers’ lunch break, and so wasn’t on county time.

THANK YOU Knox County for electing me to serve a second term as your mayor.

I am so grateful for the support you have shown me and my family throughout my campaign for re-election, and will continue to do all I can to serve you to the best of my ability. pic.twitter.com/UevMafyDKD

Accusations of misconduct follow Jacobs’ chief of staff Bryan Hair resigning after he allegedly used a county-owned golf cart at his home.

Jacobs is alleged to have encouraged White to lie to state investigators about the illegal personal use of the vehicle, while it was claimed he pounded a desk and swore at the employee when he refused.

Hair returned the golf cart to the county, but White claimed Hair planned to tell investigators he did so months earlier.

The county spokesperson has denied all allegations.

In a press release confirming the settlement, the county said White ‘admitted he never reported any illegal activity to law enforcement; Knox County’s internal or external auditors; the Knox County Fraud, Waste and Abuse Hotline; or the Comptroller’s Office as required by law’.

They added: ‘His alleged oral complaints of illegal activity are denied by every other witness and not supported by any documentation or physical record.’
