Ulrika Jonsson has shared her thoughts on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell Netflix documentary, calling it a ‘step too far’.

On Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s bombshell documentary was released in its first stage on Netflix, shedding further light on how they feel and lead their lives behind closed doors.

The couple opened up about how they were first connected on social media ahead of their first date, with the series also brewing controversy over claims that the Palace were not contacted for comment.

In episode two, Prince Harry, 38, spoke out about the ‘racist undertones’ and ‘outright racism’ in the press that was directed at Meghan, 41.

Elsewhere, Harry warned he ‘didn’t want history to repeat itself’ and made comparisons between his wife and his mother, showing old clips and images of Princess Diana being chased and hounded by paparazzi.

Presenter Ulrika has now weighed in, commenting on how Meghan and Harry’s ‘public denouncement and criticism of (mainly) the Royal Family is a step too far, even for a diehard, objective, hard-boiled family expert like me.’

She accused the pair of taking the ‘more financially beneficial option’ rather than ‘imparting their honesty directly’.

Writing in The Sun, she shared: ‘I guess it’s because they’re not imparting their honesty directly to the people concerned.

‘They’ve instead chosen to take the far more financially beneficial option of speaking their truth to Netflix.

‘If only that was an option for all of us. Wouldn’t that be grand?’

Ulrika’s comments come after Piers Morgan (predictably) had his say, ferociously tweeting his thoughts while watching the documentary.

‘This is worse than Keeping Up With The Kardashians,’ he seethed. ‘Something I didn’t think was humanly possible.’

In another post, he said: ‘God, they’re so boring!’

‘Disgusting how they’re repeatedly trying to brand Britain a racist country,’ Morgan fumed again.

‘Most tolerant place in Europe, as all the coverage of their engagement/wedding showed.’

Morgan then took direct aim at Meghan, writing: ‘Markle explaining why she uninvited her distraught niece to her wedding is hilarious. Ms Compassion literally binned off her own family for the likes of George Clooney, Oprah & David Beckham.

‘”She doesn’t have a father”. Wow. Shocking thing for Harry to say about Thomas Markle, the man he has never met. She does have a father, and he brought her up on his own for years. Where is that in the documentary?’

Morgan has a long history of slamming the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and famously quit Good Morning Britain in March 2021 after condemning Meghan’s comments in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Harry & Meghan is streaming on Netflix.
