NXT Deadline will be the final WWE premium live event of 2022 and it’s shaping up to be a great one.

With five matches all with so much promise, the stacked card is more reminiscent of the brand’s black and gold era, and the Takeover shows that defined Triple H’s brainchild for so long.

Now, Shawn Michaels is leading the charge and he’s looking to make a statement, with a bitter grudge match, a legendary team coming to challenge some young champions, a high stakes NXT Title match and the first ever Iron Survivor Challenge bouts.

Announcing the latter – all the rules are below – Michaels previously said in a video: ”NXT is a brand focusing on developing the stars of tomorrow, but also a brand focused on innovation.

‘On Saturday, December 10th at NXT Deadline we will present to you a revolutionary new match never done before in WWE history – the Iron Survivor Challenge.’

As ever, we’ve put together our regular guide with all the matches, streaming details and more, and here’s everything you need to know about the show…

What are the rules for an Iron Survivor Challenge?

Five superstars will complete in the bout, which carries a 25-minute time limit and sees two stars start with a new wrestler joining them every five minutes until all five are in the ring.

‘The goal is to have the most falls when the clock hits 25 minutes,’ WWE has explained, with falls being won ‘at any time via pinfall, submission or disqualification’ and each earning the competitor one point.

The superstar who lost a fall will be forced to leave the ring and stay in a ‘penalty box’ for 90 seconds, at which point they can re-enter the match.

At the end of the 25 minutes, the wrestler with the most points will be named Iron Survivor for their respective bout, as well as the Number One Contender for the NXT or NXT Women’s Championship.
