There was the ultimate meeting of musical minds this week as Sir Elton John, Sir Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney got together for a photo at the launch of a new documentary.

The Rocketman icon and former Beatles members were attending the lunch of Disney film If These Walls Could Sing, which tells the story of the iconic Abbey Road studios.

It was, naturally, a massively star-studded event, with some of the biggest music acts in history having recorded music the famous studio.

Alongside Sir Ringo, 82, Sir Paul, 80, and Sir Elton, 75, was Dame Lesley Lawson, aka Twiggy, 73, the national treasure known for modelling, acting and music.

The three icons were joined by record producer Giles Martin as well as some of their partners, with Sir Elton’s husband David Furnish, Sir Ringo’s wife Barbara Bach, and Twiggy’s husband Leigh Lawson all present for the photo.

It looked to be a stellar gathering, with each musical icon grinning widely at the camera for the instantly iconic snap, Sir Ringo giving the peace sign as he and Sir Elton both wore dark glasses.

Later, Sir Ringo, Sir Elton and Sir Paul gathered for another photo alongside Mary McCartney, the daughter of Sir Paul and the late Linda McCartney – and the director of the new documentary.

Sir Paul, in the middle, had his arms around former bandmate Sir Ringo and the legendary Sir Elton, while the legendary pianist wrapped his arm around Mary as they gathered for the launch of her film.

The stars each looked dapper in dark clothing, with Sir Paul opting for a suit and navy shirt, Sir Elton in a black jacket and lilac shirt, and Sir Ringo keeping it more casual with a black coat and shirt.

Later the two surviving Beatles reunited for another photo alongside their significant others, with Sir Ringo cuddling up to wife Barbara and giving the peace sign while Baraba, looking smart in a black and red outfit, smiled for the shot.

Sir Ringo joined in alongside wife Nancy Shevell, 62, whom he married in 2011.

Dressed all in black, Nancy flashed a smile at the camera as Sir Paul kept a protective arm around her.

The Twist and Shout musicians were earlier that evening seen joking around on the red carpet, with Sir Paul’s daughter Mary laughing as she shared a cuddle with Sir Ringo.

She was also seen posing for cameras with her famous dad, as he pointed proudly at the director of the eagerly anticipated doc.

If These Walls Could Sing promises to share the ‘untold story’ of the famous Abbey Road studio, giving viewers access to interviews with those who recorded music within its walls.

Which, thanks in no small part to her link to the Beatles, means viewers are guaranteed to get a real first-hand account of the iconic studio.

Announcing the project at the start of this year, Mary said: ‘Some of my earliest memories as a young child come from time spent at Abbey Road.

‘I’ve long wanted to tell the story of this historic place.’

If These Walls Could Sing will begin streaming on Disney Plus on December 16
