YouTube sensation LadBaby is on course to nab his fifth consecutive Christmas number one, with a little help from Money Saving Expert’s own Martin Lewis.

The chart-topping social media stars and charity campaigners have released their festive effort today, December 16, and are aiming to raise as much money as possible to help tackle hunger and poverty.

All profits from the song will be donated towards the fight against hunger and poverty, with 50% will go to the Trussell Trust and 50% being donated to the Band Aid Trust.

As they make their bid for another spot of chart history, just who are Ladbaby – and which song have they recorded this time?

Who is LadBaby?

LadBaby, aka Mark Hoyle, is a 35-year-old dad-of-two from Nottingham, who lives in Hemel Hempstead with his wife Roxanne and their children.

The graphic designer found fame after launching his YouTube channel in 2016, documenting his ‘lad to dad’ parenthood journey.

What songs has he released?

LadBaby’s first festive number one, in 2018, was a cover of Starship’s 1985 hit We Built This City – with the lyrics changed to We Built This City On Sausage Rolls.

The theme continued with 2019’s chart-topper I Love Sausage Rolls – based on Joan Jett’s 1982 smash I Love Rock n’Roll – while in 2020 LadBaby topped the Christmas charts with Don’t Stop Me Eatin’ – based on Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing.

His 2021 Christmas number one Sausage Rolls For Everyone, saw him getting a little help from Sir Elton John and Ed Sheeran.

All the proceeds from all the tracks have gone to food bank charity The Trussell Trust.

What is LadBaby’s Christmas song this year?

This year, LadBaby have become the first act to be allowed to rework the iconic Band Aid song Do They Know it’s Christmas.

All profits from the song will be donated towards the fight against hunger and poverty, with 50% going to the Trussell Trust and 50% being donated to the Band Aid Trust.

The track was rewritten with kind permission from Bob Geldof, Midge Ure and the Band Aid Trust.

Mark and Roxanne said: ‘We never intended to release a fifth Christmas single, but as ambassadors of the Trussell Trust we were not prepared to sit back and do nothing in a year when people are struggling more than ever.’

‘Let’s pinch that Number 1 spot from the global mega stars, eat our own body weight in sausage rolls AND most importantly raise even more money to support the amazing UK food banks charity Trussell Trust this Christmas!’

You can download Food Aid on iTunes and Amazon, and can stream it on Spotify.
