It’s all go for Brit rising star award winners Flo, as they aim to become the country’s biggest girl band.

Earlier this month, trio Jorja Douglas, Renée Downer and Stella Quaresma made history as the first group to bag the prestigious gong.

And in an exclusive chat with Guilty Pleasures, the ladies said they hoped to fill the void left by Little Mix, who went on hiatus in May.

‘It wasn’t why we were eager to release music but it was fitting that there’s a gap in the market,’ Renée, 20, said. And their peers, Little Mix, have reached out to give them their stamp of approval ‘so that’s even more incredible’, she added.

But don’t put Flo in the same (Cardboard) Box – they’re determined to blaze their own trail in music.

‘We’re creating our own thing. We don’t want to be in their (Little Mix’s) shadow,’ Jorja, also 20, added.

‘Obviously, they paved the way for us. We wouldn’t have been able to win our Brit if they hadn’t won their Brit [for best British group in 2021].’

Back with new single Losing You, Jorja, Renée and Stella have big ambitions, too.

‘Headline Coachella,’ said Renée. ‘Ooh, cover of British Vogue. Edward Enninful, if you’re listening, get in touch,’ chipped in Jorja.

And how do the gals plan to share their Brit prize? ‘We’re going to have three – well, it’s not confirmed yet,’ Renée laughed.
