Alison Hammond and Harrison Ford finally reunite to reflect on that This Morning interview: ‘You led me astray!’-Alistair McGeorge-Entertainment – Metro

Harrison Ford has finally treated us to one of the most anticipated sequels of the year – and we’re not talking about Indiana Jones.

The Hollywood hero is keeping busy with Yellowstone prequel series 1923 and upcoming blockbuster Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, but what we’ve really been craving is a reunion with Alison Hammond.

Thankfully, we got exactly that on Monday’s episode of This Morning as the duo met again – this time virtually – five years after their chaotic chat with Ryan Reynolds discussing sci-fi epic Blade Runner 2049.

The pair got on famously during the interview, cackling away and leaving viewers in stitches at home as they clearly got on like a house on fire.

This week, they were back together and Alison wasted no time in bringing up the infamous interview as she claimed Harrison was to blame for taking it off the rails.

‘Last time we met – well, frankly, we should be ashamed of ourselves. You led me astray,’ she said, but the Star Wars legend quickly interrupted and wasn’t having any of it.

‘No, no, that was not me! You started it,’ he quipped. ‘But it’s not gonna happen again.’

They admitted at the end of the interview that they’d missed each other, and Alison revealed a cracking Indiana Jones birthday cake – complete with a whip, scorpion, hat and more – in celebration of Harrison’s 80th birthday.

She asked him how he celebrated the milestone back in July and how he feels about getting older, but he coolly replied: ‘I’m trying to ignore it.’

To add insult to injury, Harrison couldn’t even have a slice of cake due to the virtual interview, but Alison assured him that she’d be ‘devouring’ the whole thing herself.

The rest of the chat was kept relatively on track, as the pair discussed the actor’s role as Jacob Dutton in 1923, which stars Dame Helen Mirren as his wife Carla, having previously played a married couple in 1986 movie The Mosquito Coast.

‘Helen and I played husband and wife 45 years ago,’ Harrison recalled. ‘We both have enjoyed those scene in which our married life is featured [in 1923]. You see in the first episode how tough she is. She goes for it, and it’s great fun to work with her.’

Meanwhile, Harrison also revealed his inspiration behind reprising the role of Indiana Jones in the upcoming fifth film in the franchise, and it’s rather wholesome.

‘I’ve always wanted to conclude his story, and I’ve always wanted to see him later in life,’ he pondered. ‘I think we have a wonderful story to tell.’
