It’s no secret that Christine and Paddy McGuinness are on tip-top terms despite calling time on their marriage in July, and now the doting mum has shared an insight into just how close she and her estranged husband have tried to remain for the sake of their kids.

Admitting that 2022 had been the ‘best and worst’ year of her life, Christine offered a no holds barred peek into her and Paddy’s current relationship, which will no doubt have fans of the couple on the edge of their seats, seeing as earlier this month Christine was spotted planting quite the smacker on her pal Chelcee Grimes.

Although a romantic rekindling is certainly off the cards, shippers of the high-profile couple will be pleased to hear that Christine and Paddy will be spending Christmas Day under the same roof with their three young children.

Chatting about her Christmas plans to OK!, Christine shared: ‘That’s what the children are used to.’

She added: ‘We don’t know what the future holds or how it’s going to be moving forward, but we’ll try to keep things as normal as possible.

‘I’m quite happy for him to be there with the children and it’s nice for them to see Mummy and Daddy just being alright. We can sit and have a cup of tea together and that’s fine.

‘I would never let the children be aware of anything other than us being happy and alright, because they’re so young and innocent.’

However, Christine did admit that the couple’s children, Penelope and Leo, both nine, and Felicity, six, don’t know their parents are no longer a couple.

The mum-of-three explained: ‘No [they don’t know we’ve split] they’re so young. I’m trying to just stick to their normal routine – take them to school in the morning, pick them up, try to work while they’re at school and take them to after-school clubs and just try to stick to normal life as much as possible.’

Directly addressing her and Paddy’s relationship, Christine described their bond as ‘amicable’ but did note that her ex’s hectic schedule means he’s not always around.

Christine also pointed out the importance of ‘taking out your own feelings and putting the kids first’, revealing that’s something she and Paddy are both trying to do.

It comes after Christine and Paddy were seen larking around at home in an Instagram clip posted by Paddy, who could be seen in the kitchen while rocking a pair of sliders and socks. Strong look, Padz.

The clip suggested a lack of bad vibes between the pair following Christine and 30-year-old Chelcee’s smooch at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland earlier this month.

The romantic exchange sparked ‘ooh-ers’ all over the shop, and neither Christine or Chelcee seemed fazed by the fact they were surrounded by spectators galore as they locked lips while enjoying hot drinks.
