Snoop Dogg could soon find himself at the control center of Twitter, if a new poll is anything to go by.

On Sunday, Elon Musk ran a vote on Twitter, asking if he should ‘step down’ as the head of the platform, amid a tumultuous takeover.

The billionaire businessman, 51, vowed that he would ‘abide’ by the results – which might be awkward as more than 17,500,000 took part and the majority clicked yes, with only 42.5% wanting him to remain.

Snoop then decided to poke fun at the situation and ran a similar vote to see whether he should replace the Tesla boss at the helm, with an overwhelming number of fans in agreement.

‘Should I run Twitter?’ the rapper, 51, casually questioned.

So far, he has received more than 1.4million votes with 81% of those agreeing that he should replace Elon.

There are still 11 hours left to vote at the time of writing, so things could still change…

Although Musk insisted that he would stick to the decision made by his original poll, it is unclear whether he will follow through on the results, and he has yet to speak out publicly.

This isn’t the first time he has used a Twitter vote to determine big decisions at the company since taking over the reigns.

Just last month, he questioned whether Donald Trump’s account should be reinstated after the former President was banned from the platform in the wake of the deadly January 6 riots in 2021.

After 51.8% of fans picked yes, the ex-Apprentice host’s account was restored – but he has yet to officially return to posting.

Musk completed his buyout of Twitter in October, and has made sweeping changes since announcing his arrival as ‘chief Twit’ shortly after.

In the last two months, he has axed top management and laid off many workers, while u-turning on Twitter Blue and how much to charge for the subscription service.

He has made controversial tweaks to the verified tick, and briefly suspended the accounts of several journalists over a controversy on publishing public data about his plane – before reinstating them after intense criticism.

It was recently announced that Twitter would no longer allow links to other social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook – with a poll on the Twitter Safety account asking for public input on the decision.

In November, the CEO told a Delaware court that he would reduce his time at Twitter and eventually find a new leader to run the company.

Could it be Snoop’s time?
