Daniel Craig has opened up about breaking the internet with his epic Belvedere advert, joking that it was ‘very carefully edited’.

The James Bond icon sent fans into a spin last month as he showed off his dance moves for a vodka commercial, directed by Taika Waititi.

The 54-year-old shimmied, thrusted and gyrated his way around Paris to promote the beverage, resulting in the most incredible two minutes of footage we’ve ever laid eyes on.

In a live recording of Josh Horowitz’s Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, held after a screening of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery at New York’s 92NY, he touched on how that advert came to be.

‘Vodka, let me tell you,’ he said, before laughing: ‘I was sober for some of it. It was important to be sober for some of it.

‘It was one of those things – I’ve done a few commercials before, they’re usually so quick and you spend three or four hours, and then you go and do the photo shoot.

‘I said, if we’re going to do it, I need to get a choreographer… I can’t really dance, as you can probably tell. It’s very carefully edited. So, a brilliant choreographer called JaQuel Knight came to my home and we basically danced for two days.

‘He just loosened me up and got me, and we went and shot it in Paris on the Pont Neuf. It was amazing.’

Despite dancing all over Paris for an advert that has racked up nearly 5million views on YouTube, he admitted that he gets nervous auditioning for parts.

When questioned what he’s like in the casting room, Daniel confessed: ‘Terrible.

‘I would still read today, I have no problem with that. I think it’s important to get to know whether you can do it or not.

‘I never took exams so I couldn’t tell you whether I’d be terrible in exams. I just get too nervous about these things…’

Aside from Belvedere, Daniel will be returning to our screens as Benoit Blanc in Glass Onion, a sequel to the incredible 2019 hit, Knives Out.

This marks his first movie since stepping down as 007 in No Time To Die, with fans and critics alike raving about the sequel.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk ahead of the release, he revealed that he had ‘no plan’ for where his career would go after the super spy, but he feels very ‘lucky’ regardless.

‘I’m just incredibly lucky as an actor and as a human being, to have done all of that [Bond] and have had that amazing experience and to have fallen into this film with Rian [Johnson, director],’ he told us.

‘For Rian to have sent me this script and the first script for Knives Out and to have got to make that movie – there’s no plan involved, it’s just great.

‘One thing I have in later life as an actor is a bit more choice, and if I have a choice, I choose to work with him.‘
