A new Apex Legends leak has revealed upcoming character Ballistic’s appearance and abilities.

Season 16 of Apex Legends is set to launch around Valentine’s Day in 2023 and many fans expect there will be new characters and maps added to the game at that point.

It’s not unusual for Apex Legends content to get leaked, as its latest map, Broken Moon, as well as at least five new characters, have been revealed on multiple occasions in the past.

One of these characters was rumoured to be called Caliber, later renamed to Ballistic, with his abilities mainly themed around weapon buffs.

A new leak seems to confirm that, giving you a full look into Ballistic’s look, as well as his passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities.

If you’re a Borderlands 3 fan, you might find that he looks similar to Zane Flynt, particularly the white hair, the goatee, and the yellow lining on the inside of his jacket.

In another photo, leaker PWN Hub revealed Ballistic’s abilities, which are as follows: Weapon Sling (passive), Smart Bullet (tactical), and Weapon Enhancer (ultimate).

The first thing that stands out is that he can carry three weapons instead of two, meaning that he won’t be running out of bullets easily.

Interfering with enemies’ weapons should also prove very useful, but could end up causing arguments with those that think it’s unfair.

Ballistic’s ultimate ability also looks quite powerful, as when activated it will give nearby teammates faster reloads, movement speed and infinite ammo.

Definitely some TYPOS in the legend ability descriptions. However we’ve seen much worse in other accurate leaks before. You make the call! pic.twitter.com/dEUiFt3bP5

Faster reloads were previously available only on a few weapons that could equip the Boosted Loader hop-up (like the Hemlok or the Wingman), which was removed in Season 15.

Movement speed is also a useful boost, especially when trying to run away from the circle.

However, what will really make Ballistic a tough opponent is the infinite ammo aspect of his ultimate ability.

If it operates similarly to Rampart’s minigun Sheila, which is a weapon with a super high-capacity magazine, there will be no escaping his shooting.

The screengrabs also include a few other interesting points that corroborate what’s been revealed in previous leaks.

First, there’s a mention of ‘red loot bins’ which further points towards offensive characters losing access to support loot bins, which are blue in the game.

If you take a close look behind Ballistic’s abilities’ frame, you’ll see the rest of the characters have now been categorised according to their types.

That’s not a huge surprise as more and more faces get added to the game. However, it’s interesting to see that Gibraltar and Newcastle have been classed as support types, since they are currently defensive characters.

Caustic, Wattson, Rampart, and Catalyst, who are also defensive types, look like they’ve come together to form a new category, that’s not been named.

Ballistic seems to be classed as an offensive character, as he’s paired with Bangalore, Revenant, Fuse, Ash, and Mad Maggie.

It’s unknown when he’s going to be added to Apex Legends, if ever, as insiders claim that no new legend will join the battle royale next season.

As always, it’s good to take this information with a grain of salt, as even if these details are true at the moment they’re still subject to change.

Still, if Ballistic gets added to the game he’s likely to quickly become a fan favourite.
