A new Christmas update has added three new quests in GTA Online for you to complete, as you explore the snowy Los Santos.

Most online games receive a winter update the closer we get to Christmas, and there’s no way GTA Online wouldn’t also add its own festive extras.

Los Santos may look dreamy with a blanket of snow covering it, but it’s still as dangerous as ever – especially if you play one of the three new quests.

From locating suspicious looking snowmen to fighting a new non-playable character called the Gooch, you can unlock a bunch of freebies by completing three, jolly, little quests.

Where are the snowmen in GTA Online?

By finding all the hidden snowmen in Los Santos and Blaine County you get to unlock your very own snowman outfit, as well as a GTA$125,000 bonus.

As they’re spread out throughout the map be prepared to spend quite some time finding them all and destroying them, as there are 25 in total.

Once you come across a snowman, you can choose to run it over, shoot it or even blow it up, as they’re all acceptable methods of destruction.

Here are all the snowmen locations in GTA Online:

As soon as you smash the 25th and final snowman, you’ll see a pop-up that you’ve completed the challenge.

You can then go and change into your new outfit and continue spreading some Christmas cheer (or horror).

How to get the Gooch mask in GTA Online

The Grinch is part of GTA Online now, although it’s called the Gooch and it kind of looks like a yeti.

The Gooch is a non-playable character that attacks at random, so you can’t use it to your advantage to attack other nearby players.

If he ends up beating you up, be prepared to lose all the cash and snacks you have on you. However, if you end up defeating the Gooch, you’ll be able to loot its mask and GTA$25,000.

The Gooch will not show up if you’re in the middle of a mission, inside a building, or if you don’t have money in your wallet or in the bank. So, there’s no way to trick your way around losing money if he defeats you.

This assailant automatically spawns after around 45 minutes, if you’re in a GTA Online session with at least one other player.

It’s wise to be near a vehicle if you see the Gooch approaching, as you can easily catch up with him if he starts running away, plus, you can try and run him over.

How to start the Weazel Plaza shootout in GTA Online

The third Festive Surprise event in GTA Online is inspired by none other than Christmas classic Die Hard.

In this case, you’ll need to hang around Weazel Plaza, which is GTA Online’s version of Nakatomi Plaza from the film.

By taking out the robbers that have taken over the skyscraper, you’ll earn a new weapon, GTA$, and the Season’s Greetings skin for the Pistol MK II.

Like the Gooch, the Weazel Plaza event spawns seemingly at random, although there is a way to kickstart it to get your hands on the freebies quicker.

You need to follow these simple steps:

Log in to the game and stay online for at least 20 minutes.

Make sure it’s between 8pm to 6am in GTA Online time.

Stay within 400m of Weazel Plaza.

The random event will start once choppers begin flying over Weazel Plaza.

Get an Oppressor MK II or a chopper and land on the roof of the building. This will trigger the event.

After landing on the roof, you’ll be faced with several criminals. Make sure to kill every one of them.

Once defeated, you’ll see a WM 29 pistol on the ground near one of the dead criminals.

If this is your first time completing the event, you will also be rewarded with GTA$25,000.

The WM 29 pistol is a reference to the sidearm John McClane, aka Bruce Willis, used in Die Hard, a Beretta 92.

You can purchase ammo for the pistol as normal from the Ammu-Nation gun shops.
