I bought socks from Shein as they’re so cheap but when they arrived I was horrified and the smell was something else

AFFORDABLE and trendy, Shein’s website has become the go-to shopping place for many.

But by using low-quality materials and underpaid labour, Shein‘s products are often known to not look anything like their advertisements online – and one fashionista came to learn it the hard way.

Jenna was excited to receive her new socks – but was soon mortified by what she found on the doorstepTiktok/@jennarosabelle

After scrolling on the site, Jenna Rosabelle (@jennarosabelle) stumbled upon cute socks which she immediately bagged.

But upon opening the parcel she had found on her doorstep a few days later, the 21-year-old, from Arizona, the US, was mortified.

At first, the young style lover was hit by a rank smell which she described as ”rancid”.

Unfortunately for her, that was only a taster of what was to follow – each pair of socks she had ordered was covered in mysterious liquid.

The shocked shopper immediately grabbed her phone to show her almost 4k followers what the packages looked like.

One appeared to have some clear liquid inside, whilst another contained white fluid.

”I don’t know whats going on and i simply do not want to know,” Jenna wrote in the caption of her video.

Just as shocked by the grim discovery, social media users flocked to comments where they shared their guesses of what the liquids could be.

One reckoned: ”It might be water, sometimes mass producers wash clothing and package them before drying so it could be mildew your smelling.”

Another thought: ”I’ve ordered a hoodie before online and the creator sent me a little note saying that they used vinegar for the cloth to (can’t remember exactly what).”

A third wrote: ”yeah, disinfectant, pesticides, always good to give new things a wash bc they are covered in stuff.”

”Probably some sort of disinfectant, I think they do that I could be wrong tho,” someone else said.

It is not the first time the fast fashion giant has gone viral for all the wrong reasons – recently one shopper wast lost for words after realising how indecent her dress looked.

Looking to replenish her wardrobe with some goodies, the plus size fashion lover and make-up enthusiast, Kay J., from the US, decided to have a little scroll on Shein.

There, amongst thousands of garments, she stumbled across one that caught her attention – a sexy bodycon midi dress with a 3D print of a naked woman.

At just over a tenner, the black and white bargain seemed to be too good to sleep on, and Kay immediately bagged it.

The shopper couldn’t have been any more excited to see what it looked like – but upon trying it on, she was mortified and took to TikTok to share the hilarious fail.

Posing in the new outfit and a pair of black sunnies, Kay said: ”So I’m upset… because I thought thought this dress was going to be really cute.

”What is this? Is this supposed to look like I’m covered in body hair or what?

”Because this is giving pubes,” the unhappy shopper said in the clip.

”I don’t even wanna show y’all the back – the back look like a hairy booty.

”If you have this dress, stitch this video cause I wanna know what’s going on.”
