I got dress-coded at uni for wearing a roll neck & black suit – trolls say I should follow the rules but I don’t care
WHAT would you wear to university?
It’s a question everyone’s asking themselves after a student was called out for wearing an inappropriate outfit to class, but people can’t work out what’s wrong with it.

While most universities let students wear what they want around campus, a select few have their own uniforms and maintain strict standards.
If you don’t follow the rules there are serious consequences, as Gina Maria discovered.
The TikTok user shares her adventures as an Erasmus student in Lyon, France.
She’s given her followers a sneak peek at her swanky university, which looks like a castle from a fairytale.
There’s even top chefs serving up lunch which puts British canteen turkey burgers to shame.
But it’s her latest post that’s attracted attention.
It’s watched by over 184,000 people, and they’re all saying the same thing.
Gina tells her fans: “Guys, I got dress-coded today.
“So for the ones who don’t know, I’ve been trying to get dress-coded at my university for the last few months and today was the day when finally a teacher said something.”
Gina steps back from the camera to show viewers the outfit she wore to class.
The student wears her hair in a middle parting with a neat plait down her back.
She has a plain cream roll-neck top on, and a matching black trouser suit.

“So this was my outfit today,” she explains. “I was wearing a black suit, not a blue one. I was not wearing my scarf and I was not wearing a blouse. So I was literally not wearing my uniform.”
But it wasn’t just Gina the teacher took issue with.
“Not only was I dress-coded but also the other half of the class,” she reveals. “They warned us that if we don’t wear the uniform by tomorrow then we won’t get into the class.
“So yeah, I guess I’m going to have to stick to my uniform again,” she ends with a smile.
Having completed her mission to be dress-coded, Gina seems pleased with herself.
But trolls were quick to share their opinions.
“What’s the point of this?,” asked one unimpressed user. “Purposely breaking the dress code for what reason?
“What did you gain? What did you expect to happen?”
A second agreed: “Why would you try to get dress-coded? You signed up with the uni, so follow the rules.
A third, however, was just confused by the whole situation and asked: “Can you explain the uniform for university? This is not a thing where I am at.”
Gina happily replied: “This university has a dress code policy. This means that everyone has to wear the same uniform.”
