But one shopper has shared the reason she always gives new items a soak before wearing them for the first time.
TikTok user Morgan showed what happened on the platform.
The TikTokker captioned the clip: “This is why you should always wash clothes from Shein before wearing them.”
In the video, viewers could see the water turning cloudy due to something coming out of the clothes.
She illustrated this by washing the item in the bath.
It’s not known why this was, but many viewers suspected that this was dye coming out of the clothing.
Those who gave the clip a watch quickly reacted and it soon racked up over 700k viewers.
Some said they always give everything a whirl from Shein in the washing machine before wearing.
One wrote below: “That’s what I do when I order from shein, have to wash before you wear.”
“I think that’s just the cheap dye,” said another.
However, others reminded her of the importance of washing any clothes before wearing them.
