The first Islander heading to South Africa for Love Island 2023 has reportedly been unveiled as Boohoo ambassador.

The winter edition of the long-running ITV2 dating show is set to return in a few weeks and will see Maya Jama take the reigns of the programme for the first time since taking over from Laura Whitmore.

The fresh batch of Islanders will be hoping to find love in a luxurious £1.2million villa nestled in the heart of South Africa, complete with an Olympic training pool and 400m running track.

And, while ITV have yet to confirm the cast, it is thought the first singleton hoping to find true romance is 22-year-old Tanya Manhenga.

According to Tanya’s Instagram, which boasts 11.5k followers, she is a digital creator and is an ambassador for brands including Boohoo, Simmi and Ego.

An insider said about the potential reality TV star: ‘Tanya really is the whole package, she’s as smart as she is stunning and she looks set to be one this series’ most popular Islanders.

They continued to The Sun: ‘She’s an Islander in waiting, already moving in the same circles as former cast members and with brand deals already under her belt.

‘But her followers already know she’s got a personality to match.

‘This year’s cast is a sassy bunch, packed with banter and good chat, and Tanya is set to lead the pack.’

Tanya’s most recent post was on Christmas Eve, in which she posed in front of a glamorous Christmas tree adorned wth white, sparkly decorations.

She cryptically captioned the picture: ‘Calm before the storm’, which could be a reference to Love Island 2023.

Her other posts include stunning shots of her attending glitzy bashes, including for the likes of fashion brand Luxe to Kill, and on holiday in Marbella, Spain.

In more Love Island news, it has been reported that ITV was so concerned about the safety of the contestants that they have adopted intense security measures.

These include a security team who will be patrolling the Ludus Magnus villa non-stop using night vision CCTV and alarm beams.

The villa is also being protected by high-voltage electric gates, which will be fully manned by trained guards posted on all the perimeters inside the property for protection, according to The Sun.
