Love Island bosses shocked the nation last summer when Adam Collard returned to the villa, and now new host Maya Jama has revealed which former contestant she’d like to follow suit.
Maya, 28, is set to make her debut on the ITV2 show when the winter series in South Africa kicks off on January 16, and she’s already arrived in Cape Town.
When asked who she would like to see make a surprise return, she said the one and only Theo Campbell.
Theo, 31, skyrocketed to fame on the third season of the dating programme in 2017.
During his stint in the Majorcan escape, the athlete cracked on with Tyla Carr, which left Jonny Mitchell absolutely fuming. However, his time in the villa wasn’t to last and he was eventually dumped before the final.
‘I found him hilarious,’ Maya shared, before referring to Theo’s infamous quote: ‘That line about “leave with them”.

‘We were all feeling it and Theo actually said it. You need that honesty sometimes!’
Since leaving Love Island, Theo welcomed a son, Aries, in February 2021 with Sapphire Yhnell.
In 2019, he lost his vision in one eye after a champagne cork popped in his face in Ibiza.
Maya has been a Love Island fan for years and claims it was the first reality show besides Big Brother that she made sure she was home to watch it.

‘Everyone gets involved, everyone has opinions – from the older people in your family to the younger ones,’ she said.
‘It’s just fun, it’s fun to see how people play out in different situations and wonder what you would do if you were in the same position. Most of us have had a bit of a holiday romance before and it’s like watching that on telly.’

Sharing what she thinks makes the perfect islander, she added: ‘Someone that’s looking for love, someone with a lively personality, somebody who is open and shares their feelings, but also someone that’s not afraid to keep their options open and test the waters.
‘Just someone that’s willing to get stuck in and get fully involved in every bit of the experience and all the challenges. Make the most of it!
‘And allow it to be a proper test and see if your relationship can carry on through that, rather than play it safe. I think that’s what makes the best Islander.’
Love Island launches on January 16 at 9pm on ITV2.
