Good news, Minx has been given a new lease of life thanks to Starz after being brutally cancelled by HBO last month.

The erotic comedy, starring Jake Johnson, Ophelia Lovibond, and Michael Angarano, premiered on HBO Max in March and was renewed for a second season in May.

However, it was suddenly binned by the streamer in December as production on the new series neared competition.

Luckily though, Starz, whose parent company, Lionsgate, produces Minx, has come and saved the day.

Creator and showrunner Ellen Rapport couldn’t be more delighted, and in a statement said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Starz family, and for the opportunity to introduce Minx to a brand new audience.

‘We’ve found the perfect home. Our writers, cast and crew have created something truly special in season two, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.’

The cast celebrated being saved in a video shared on Starz and Mixs’s social media platforms.

‘Thank you to the fans for all of the love and the support,’ Joyce Prigger star Ophelia said.

‘We never finish early!’ Jake added. ‘Minx is back and we’ve got a new home.’

The cast also celebrated the brilliant news with Jake, who plays Doug Renetti in the show, sharing a photo of them from set to Instagram.

‘Excited to announce that @starz picked up Minx!’ he captioned the post. ‘More details about when season one and season two will be streaming to come! We’re all fired up for everyone to see S2 & beyond.’

HBO Max previously said that Minx would be taken off its streaming platform.

‘We have enjoyed a good partnership with HBO Max and are working closely to find a new opportunity for Minx, so current, and new viewers, can continue this journey with us,’ Lionsgate TV said in a statement at the time.
