Tributes have been paid to Lisa Marie Presley following her sudden death aged 54.
The star, who was the only daughter of the late Elvis Presley, suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday and was rushed to hospital.
However emergency staff were unable to save her life, and her mother Priscilla confirmed the ‘devastating’ news of her death just hours later.
‘It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,’ Priscilla Presley said in a statement.
‘She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.’
People in the UK are waking up to the shock news this morning, but tributes have flooded in overnight from friends and fellow celebrities in her native United States.
Grease star John Travolta, who lost close friend and co-star Olivia Newton John last year to breast cancer, shared a photo of Presley to Instagram saying he was ‘so sorry’ to hear the news.

Addressing her directly, he wrote: ‘Lisa baby girl, I’m so sorry. I’ll miss you but I know I’ll see you again. My love and heart goes out to Riley, Priscilla, Harper and Finley.’
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson said they were ‘heartbroken’ by the loss – ‘absolutely broken.’
King of Queens actress Leah Remini also said she was ‘heartbroken,’ adding she ‘did not have an easy life, as some might think.’
‘May she be at peace, resting with her son and father now. Her mom Priscilla and her three daughters, Riley, Finley, and Harper, are in my prayers’
Actor Corey Feldman shared his grief, saying ‘another person I shared deep emotion with has passed away.’
‘This is so sad & shocking! Lisa & I sent hrs on the phone as she was divorcing MJ, her son Ben was alike a little brother 2 me, so much loss, so much tragedy n their family (sic).’

Musician Pink also shared a throwback photo of the pair with their arms around each other and grinning, and said the news ‘hurts my heart.’
‘Lisa Marie, you were one of a kind. Funny as s**t, smart as a whip, sensitive, talented, witty, mean, loving, generous, judgmental but always right, loyal, and you adored your children.’
She said her heart ‘breaks’ for her children and mother.
Presley had attended the Golden Globes just two days before, and the awards show shared that they were ‘incredibly saddened’ to hear the news, saying she was ‘an extremely talented singer/songwriter and a very welcome presence at the Golden Globes this past Tuesday.’
Musician Leann Rimes said it was ‘heartbreaking’ and that she hoped Presley was now ‘at peace in her dad’s arms.’
‘my heart goes out to her family. too much grief in just a couple of years,’ she wrote.

Presley, the daughter of the late Elvis and first wife Priscilla, 77, is the mother of four children, including Riley, 33, and Benjamin, who died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27, with first husband Danny Keough.
She also has twins Finley and Harper with fourth husband Michael Lockwood, who are just 14 years old.
Presley was also previously married to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage.
Her mother Priscilla first met father Elvis when she was 14 and he was 25 while at a party in Germany in 1954.

The then-teenager moved in with the singer four years later and they were married in 1967, welcoming their daughter nine months later.
They divorced in 1972 but remained close until his death aged 1977.
