Chumbawamba turn down £30,000 for music to be used in new Jeremy Clarkson show: ‘I can’t tell you how much satisfaction that gave us’-Pierra Willix-Entertainment – Metro

They might have been offered a tidy sum of £30,000 for Jeremy Clarkson to use one of their songs on TV, but Chumbawamba have delightedly turned him down.
Clarkson, 62, recently came under fire following a hugely controversial column in which he wrote that he ‘hated’ Meghan Markle on a ‘cellular level’ and dreamed about her being paraded naked through the streets and shamed.
His comments incensed many, and now the band made sure their music to had nothing to do with his work.
Posting on Twitter, the lead guitarist for the anarcho-punk and folk band who shot to fame with their massive single Tubthumping, boasted that they’d declined the offer.
‘So anyway today we turned down £30,000 for our song to be used for a trailer for Jeremy Clarkson’s new TV series,’ Boff Whalley, 62, wrote.
‘I can’t tell you how much satisfaction that gave us.’

While he didn’t single out the song or the show, they were quickly praised by some followers, who congratulated the band.
One fan wrote ‘Hats off’, while another simply added ‘bravo’.
‘It’s nice to hear about a little integrity now and then. Thank you,’ another added.

After leaving Top Gear, the TV presenter has had success with his series Clarkson’s Farm, which follows his efforts to turn a profit off his Diddly Squat farm in the Cotswold’s, and has been wreaking havoc across the world with Richard Hammond and James May in The Grand Tour.
This week Clarkson returned to Instagram weeks after he faced severe criticism for his one on the Duchess of Sussex, which is now the most-complained-about story in history with over 20,800 IPSO complaints.

In his first post back, he posted a photo with a piglet who had been welcomed at the farm, however on Friday he updated his followers and announced she’d died.
His abrupt way of sharing the news proved jarring for some followers, with one writing: ‘Hell, soften the blow a little ffs.’
