Bridgerton fans lapped up the first two seasons of the Netflix drama, watching wide-eyed as steamy romances and salacious gossip perpetuated London’s high society in the period drama.
The next couple due to take centre stage are Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), two members of the Ton who’ve known each other for years but are yet to take their longstanding friendship to the next level.
While the series – which is made by Shonda Rhimes’ production company Shondaland – is set in the English capital during the Regency era, several members of the cast were spotted filming season 3 in Bath on Tuesday January 17.
With the temperature having gone into the minus region in the morning, before warming up ever so slightly past midday, the actors had to ensure they were kept warm in between takes by donning anachronistic puffer jackets.
Fortunately for them, their costumes do happen to be made up of several layers, with the men seen in their brightly-coloured jackets, waistcoats, top hats and gloves, and the women in frilly dresses with ruffles up to their necks and long sleeves.
At one point, one of the female actors on the show wrapped a scarlet red blanket around her in between filming scenes, as members of the crew were seen wearing thick jackets and furry hats.

Oh to be a woman trying to keep warm in England in the winter months of the early 19th century!
Filming took place in Bath’s Royal Crescent, one of the sites previously used for the production.
The street provides the location for the exterior of the Featherington home on Bridgerton, with the family – in addition to youngest daughter Penelope – including matriarch Portia (Polly Walker), middle daughter Philippa (Harriet Cains) and eldest daughter Prudence (Bessie Carter).
The core members of the Featherington clan were nowhere to be seen on this occasion.

Last year, a synopsis was released for the third season of Bridgerton, as new cast members were also announced.
In the tease for the upcoming episodes, it explained that Penelope had ‘finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton’, after she overheard ‘his disparaging words about her last season’.
‘She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters,’ it added, referencing Penelope’s double life as the town whisperer.
Unfortunately, Penelope is ‘lacking in confidence’, and so her attempts to find a husband ‘fail spectacularly’.

Colin, on the other hand, has returned from his travels over the summer, sporting ‘a new look and a serious sense of swagger’.
However, after what Penelope heard him see about her previously, she’s giving him the ‘cold shoulder’, which results in him feeling ‘disheartened’.
‘Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season,’ the synopsis read.

‘But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly.’
In addition to Penelope’s romance woes, her falling out with her best friend Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) remains an issue that she has to grapple with.
Eloise ends up making a new friend ‘in a very unlikely place’, while Penelope must also face the difficulties of keeping her identity as Lady Whistledown a secret.
The first two seasons of Bridgerton are available to watch on Netflix.
