1000-lb Sisters star Amy Slaton could not hide her disappointment after learning the sex of her second child.

The 35-year-old reality star, who fronts the TLC series with sibling Tammy Slaton, announced she was expecting baby number two with husband Michael Halterman last January.

She discovered she was pregnant after being constipated for three weeks, and later delivered a little boy, Glenn, in July.

However, before Glenn’s arrival, Amy was devastated when Dr Cindy Basinski revealed that she was pregnant with a baby boy.

In a preview clip ahead of Tuesday’s new episode, Amy admits that she really wants a little girl because she’s always hoped to be a mum to one son and one daughter.

‘Best of both worlds,’ she says. ‘I’m getting older and I’m already high risk, so after this baby, I’m getting my tubes tied.’

However, Amy’s dreams are quickly crushed when the doctor reveals that a boy was on the way.

Speaking in the confessional after a very long pause, Amy tells the camera: ‘I’m this much disappointed’ while making a large gesture with her hands.

‘At the end of the day, they are healthy and that’s all that matters,’ she adds.

‘I knew it was a boy,’ her partner quips.

Elsewhere in the clip, Dr Cindy warns Amy that her pregnancy was high risk due to her weight.

‘Women who are not their ideal weight are at higher risk for blood pressure, so that’s why it’s also very important to monitor what you’re putting in your body and really limiting those carbs,’ she tells her.

‘The reality is, if you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be around to take care of him.
