Stormzy has been confirmed to perform at next month’s Brit Awards – and we’re confident he’ll absolutely Own It.

It was announced today that the rapper will join the star-studded line-up at the O2 in London on February 11.

Already on the bill are Harry Styles, Lizzo, Cat Burns, and DJ David Guetta and Becky Hill and Ella Henderson.

The forecast is looking positive for chart-topper Stormzy, who is in the running for three gongs at the ceremony, in association with MasterCard, hosted by Mo Gilligan.

He’s up for artist of the year, against the aforementioned Hazza, Central Cee, George Ezra and buzzed-about Fred Again…

The 29-year-old South Londoner will be also hoping to surge in the best album category, for his acclaimed offering This Is What I Mean.

Tough competition comes from Styles, for Harry’s House, Wet Leg, for their self-titled debut, The 1975, for Being Funny in a Foreign Language, and Actual Life 3, by Fred Again…

Expect him to put in a swell showing in the hip hop/grime/rap category too, also featuring Central Cee, Aitch, Dave and Loyle Carner.

Former One Direction star Harry and indie-pop duo Wet Leg lead the noms with four apiece, while singer-songwriter Cat Burns joins Stormzy with three, having been shortlisted for the rising star honour, losing out to girl group FLO.

Other notable nominees are superstars Beyonce and Taylor Swift, who will battle it our for best international artist and international song, for Break My Soul and Anti-Hero respectively.

In a recent interview, Stormzy, who used to date Love Island host Maya Jama, spoke about the strain of being in the music industry.

‘There was a time when I used to think I can’t be a musician forever, because what it takes for me to make an album is so emotionally, physically and mentally taxing,’ he said.

‘Every time I go to make an album, I’m going to get in this hole of the pressure and overwhelming-ness.’

Speaking to Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, Stormzy added: ‘This time around [though], now that I understand God, I’m like, “Oh, it’s fine.” So, all I do now is, I go in the studio, we pray, literally, “Father God, be in the room, Holy Spirit, just guide whatever.” And I hope for the best.’
