Rupert Grint has revealed he’s keen to reprise his Harry Potter role, more than a decade since Ron Weasley was in cinemas.
The 34-year-old rose to fame alongside Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe when they all starred in the first instalment of J. K. Rowling’s adaptations back in 2002.
At the time, he was only 11, but went on to play the beloved character for eight films, before it all came to an end in 2011.
Appearing on Thursday’s This Morning, Rupert admitted to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that he would be keen for Ron to return.
‘Yeah, I think if the timing was right and everyone was kind of coming back, I would revisit,’ he said.
‘It’s a character that’s important to me and I grew up with him – we kind of became the same person!

‘I feel quite protective of him as well. It was my whole childhood.’
This comes after dad-of-one Rupert introduced his daughter to the Harry Potter world, and even gave her a wand.
While making an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in March, the talk show host said to Rupert: ‘Now you have this beautiful baby and one day you’re going to show her these movies one day and say: “That’s daddy!”’

‘I’ve already started showing her the trailers,’ Rupert responded, before adding: ‘She has a wand and a PEZ dispenser with my head on it.’
Rupert shares Wednesday, who was born in May 2020, with partner and fellow actor Georgia Groome.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
