I’m a stylist – the dated tops hiding in your cupboard that you need to bin immediately – they’re never flattering

A STYLIST has taken to TikTok to reveal the one item everybody should cull from their wardrobe immediately – but not all of her followers agree.

Caitlin, known online as @caitlin_jaymes, regularly shares fashion and styling tips with her 55,000 followers.

She recommended ditching these tunic-style tops with a drop hemtiktok/@caitlin_jaymes

Caitlin also told her followers to get rid of tops with a crossover front, claiming they’re never flattering on the stomach areatiktok/@caitlin_jaymes

In a new video, she shares the one item she always removes from her client’s wardrobes – tunics, especially those with a crossover front.

But not all her followers were a fan of her advice, with one telling Caitlin to ‘just let us be’.

During the 19-second video, she said: “Items I’m always getting rid of during a closet edit appointment.

“These type of tunic tops that we used to wear with leggings, that cover your butt but go high in the front – get rid of them.

“Also these types of tops that have this criss-cross thing going on.

“Either just tuck in your top or do a little bit of a front tuck. You do not need the crisscross.”

Below the video, she added: “The crisscross is never flattering on your stomach.”

Fans loved her tip, with the video gaining more than 15,100 likes and 533,000 views.

But not all her followers agreed, with one writing: “Keep both of those options. Don’t listen to some random girl telling you to throw away your clothes in the name of being “trendy.”

She added: “Dress how you feel.”

Another said: “In five years people will be getting rid of crop tops and opting for longer shirts instead.”

A third added: “No. Lol I’m comfortable covered. Crop tops and me no. Tunics. Yes. Just let us be.”

Caitlin replied: “Whatever makes you feel confident. All body types can dress in trends.”

Someone else put: “Welp. I have no clothes left.”

She’s not the only one sharing their fashion tips online – Kenzie took to TikTok to share how she ensures she always buys the right size jeans without trying them on.

She said: “Here’s how to check the length of your pants without trying them on.

“Hold your jeans at the hem and stretch them across your wingspan.

“If your elbow can’t stretch out fully, then the pants will fit cropped.

“If you can’t bring the crotch to your breast bone, then they will likely be baggy or long.

“And if you have a perfectly straight arm, then they will be your perfect length.”

Fans loved the quick and easy hack, with the video gaining more than 100,000 likes and 3.7 million views.
