Katherine Ryan has lashed out at a follower who criticised her parenting of newborn Fenna Grace.

The 39-year-old comedian posted a cute carousel on Monday of her week spent with husband Bobby Kootstra and her three kids, Violet, 13, one-year-old Frederick and newborn Fenna Grace, who the pair welcomed in December.

But one picture, in which Katherine hugs baby Fenna with a full glass of vino on the table in front of them, made one follower lash out in the comments section of the post.

‘Enough with the wine drinking whilst still breastfeeding. I couldn’t care less about statistics about percentages. Alcohol isn’t healthy for adults…nevermind babies’, they said.

Katherine replied with her staple blunt energy: ‘Kera my small children are smart enough to slowly explain to you why it’s fine.’

Others were less concerned, and even congratulated the star on adding wine to her breakfast menu.

One said, ‘Are you having a glass of wine at breakfast? Because if you are, you’re my new favorite person,’ while another wrote: ‘Wine for breakfast! My Queen!’

The naysayer shouldn’t have been too worried though, as the NHS website says the occasional drink is ‘unlikely’ to harm a baby, especially if you wait at least two hours after having a drink before feeding.

If you regularly drink as much as 14 units per week, it’s best to spread your drinking evenly over three or more days.

So in short, little and often is fine, Karen – I mean Kera.

Other photos from the family’s week include further adorable snaps of the tribe messing around at home and out and about enjoying Hertfordshire life.

Katherine has previously shared a picture of her drinking wine and breastfeeding, which also proved controversial, but this is the first time comments have caused the mum-of-three to bite back.

The Canadian comedian announced her pregnancy in November on her podcast Katherine Ryan: Telling Everybody Everything, in which she said: ‘You guys know I’m pregnant, I’ve been pregnant for a while and here’s how I did that.

‘I got pregnant while breastfeeding the first time I tried and to be honest with you I don’t think it’s going to work because I’m 39 – I would have been 38 when I got pregnant.

‘And I thought “we’ve got to get the kids out of the way”. You never know how long you’re gonna have and I love my kids.’

The Duchess star also admitted to being worried about being able to get pregnant with another baby after suffering two miscarriages in the past.

The comedian and her husband Bobby were childhood sweethearts back in Canada when they were 15, but reconnected in 2019 and have been going from strength to strength ever since.

Katherine’s family is often the topic of her stand-up, as she previously joked about how her daughter Violet has adopted a posh English accent.
