The Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona Singer has opened up about what really went down after newcomer Eboni K. Williams confronted her about a comment regarding ‘the help’.

Season 13’s trailer got Bravo fans excited for a showdown after Eboni – the first Black housewives in the NYC franchise – was left shocked when Ramona appeared to be calling her staff ‘the help’.

Ramona was seen saying, ‘I get my help wrong’, to which Eboni then told the RHONY OG: ‘”The help” comment was a little triggering for me’.

Speaking to E! News, Ramona cleared things up as she stated: ‘It wasn’t “the help”…What I said was, “I cannot remember the names of my help. I can’t remember the names of the people who help me”.’

Ramona then insisted that there’s no bad blood between her and Eboni over her choice of words as she continued: ‘There really was no tension.

‘She just explained what using the word “the help” means; I didn’t use the word “the help” but she educated me and brought me up to speed on what she feels and I respect that.’

In fact, Ramona thinks Eboni has been a great addition to the cast as she stated: ‘She basically fit seamlessly from the get-go, not to say she didn’t have conflict with some of us or all of us. I love the fact that she makes a mean French martini. That’s one of my new favorite drinks.’

The reality star continued: ‘I really bonded with her right away. We were both amazed. She’s amazed, I’m amazed, just how we kind of get each other and were in sync in so many ways.

‘She’s an independent woman who’s self-made, she put herself through college. So we have a lot of similarities that way and in other ways, but you’ll see on the show.’

The Real Housewives of New York City returns to Bravo on May 4 in the US, while it is available to stream on hayu in the UK.
