Jake Quickenden and Sophie Church will share the emotional moment they become parents for the first time tonight – so expect a hell of a lot of tears.
The couple, who welcomed baby Leo in February, allowed cameras to film their experience of pregnancy right up to the birth, and on tonight’s episode we finally see Jake and Sophie meet their little one for the first time.
In Celebrity Bumps: Famous and Pregnant, Jake and Sophie are seen in floods of tears as they celebrate Leo’s arrival.
The birth took just 24minutes, with Leo born weighing 5lb 10oz.
‘Babe, you were absolutely amazing,’ Jake tells Sophie, kissing her head with pride immediately following the birth.
Sophie then tells him: ‘I’m not going to lie, it was the most painful thing in my whole entire life.’
‘People told me that when I saw my baby it would be life changing and you’d feel a love that you never felt – and honestly it is…,’ he said.
‘He’s so little, I can hold him in the palm of my hand. You were perfect.’
‘Thanks for being such an amazing birthing partner,’ Sophie tells the Dancing on Ice champion.
‘You can’t describe the feeling of having a baby put on your chest until you’ve had that moment yourself. There’s no feeling like that. It’s love you’ve never felt before.’
Leo is the couple’s first child together, with Sophie having another son, six-year-old Freddie, from a previous relationship.
Jake announced the arrival of his son on Instagram on February 24, heaping more praise on his girlfriend for her amazing work during the birth.
‘I am so overwhelmed right now, but first I want to say Sophie you’re amazing and watching you during all this made me love you even more,’ she said. ‘I already know you’re an amazing mum and cannot wait to raise this beautiful little baby with you!!
‘I also have such a mixture of feelings. I’m so so happy but also feel a little sadness my dad and brother are not around to meet my baby!!
‘I promise to be a great dad, I will make mistakes but promise I won’t make the same one twice, I will learn on the job like most parents and will do everything in my best interest for you. The most beautiful thing in the world.
‘All very tired but that’s obviously expected! Much love. The birth was beautiful and really quick!!! Well done [Sophie].’
Celebrity Bumps: Famous and Pregnant airs tonight at 8pm on MTV.
