Love Island fans across the nation are crushed by Will Young’s betrayal of Jessie Wynter – and Ed Balls is among them.
On last night’s episode of the ITV2 programme in South Africa, the farmer locked lips with newcomer Layla Al-Momani in the main villa, after his partner Jessie Wynter headed over to Casa Amor with the rest of the girls.
Despite many viewers thinking Will, 23, and Jessie, 26, were one of the most likely couples to stay faithful to each other, Will was quick to crack on, although he appeared to immediately regret his actions afterwards.
On Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain, Ed, his co-host Charlotte Hawkins and Richard Arnold discussed the latest drama on Winter Love Island 2023, including the many heads that have been turning since Casa Amor came into play.
After watching a montage of Will’s tryst with Layla, Ed, 55, leant back on his chair with his arms behind his head, as Charlotte, 47, remarked that he looked ‘unimpressed’.
The former politician looked utterly heartbroken by what he witnessed, but he did also point out how remorseful Will seemed straight after his terrace snog.

‘To be fair, after Will kissed Layla, he immediately knew it was a mistake and he says it’s going to make him closer,’ he remarked.
‘He knows that he loves Jessie more than he thought before, so it might in the end be ok,’ he stated, before adding that Casa Amor ‘messes things up’.
Several people on Twitter expressed their heartache after witnessing Will cheat on Jessie – and while they’re not yet ‘official’, he had admitted that he could see himself falling for her, and they shared an intimate night together in the Hideaway.
‘Look how quickly Will put his hand up to say his girl won’t cheat and now he’s talking about “dibble-dabbling” LOOOOL,’ one person tweeted, remembering how Will speculated that Jessie wouldn’t have her head turned in Casa Amor.
The one person who I thought would never kiss and cheat was Will and he did it,’ another exasperated individual wrote.
So could Will and Jessie recover from this, and will he be honest with her when they’re reunited?
Last month, Ed revealed how much of a Love Island fan he was when he posted a picture on Instagram wearing a personalised dressing gown, in front of a flat screen TV ready to air an episode.
‘Winter Love Island – who knew ? But now I’m hooked,’ he wrote in the caption, before thanking the GMB and Love Island team for his ‘stylish robe’.
He also recently – jokingly – put himself forward for the middle-aged spin-off, despite being married.
Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am.
