Certain rooms are locked behind puzzle doors in Hogwarts Legacy, but you need to know the trick to opening them.
Hogwarts Castle has many secrets within its walls, waiting for you to uncover them, and gather some useful loot in the process.
While playing Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll come across a series of large puzzle doors with mysterious animal symbols. However, no matter how hard you push, you’ll only get in by solving their riddles to unlock them.
You can try and spin the plates through every combination of animal symbols to solve each door but the real solution to the puzzles is based on simple maths.
First you need to head to the library annex area of Hogwarts, where the puzzle door leading to the Arithmancy classroom is located.
Beside it you’ll find a note that lists the number each animal symbol represents. Here are all the symbols and the magical beast they represent:
0 – Demiguise
1 – Unicorn
2 – Graphorn
3 – Runespoor
4 – Fwooper
5 – Quintaped
6 – Salamander
7 – Octopus
8 – Spider
9 – Hydra
Each beast represents a number (pic: Warner Bros.)
Once you’ve memorised which animal represents what number it’ll be much easier to solve the door puzzles and explore the hidden locations.
Unfortunately, you can’t use the unlocking spell you get for level one locks, only solving the maths puzzle opens up the door.
