Known online as @themonicaway, the bargain hunter regularly shares her pre-loved clothing hauls and her tips for when shopping secondhand.

In a new TikTok reel, she said: “My name’s Monica and over 90 per cent of my wardrobe is pre-loved.

“Here’s some tips to help you out whilst charity shopping.

“Tip one, always keep your eye out for simple pieces like white vests, plain black tops, pieces that you can layer all the time as you’ll get loads of wear out of them, and you can find them at amazing prices.

“Tip two, always take a look in the coat and blazer section of a charity shop. This is where I have found some of my favourite pieces.

“You can find some incredible vintage blazers, look at this United Colours of Benetton matching suit. £20, amazing.

“One of the things I love the most about buying secondhand is finding things of really, really high quality.

“Tip three, always keep your eyes peeled for iconic prints and fabrics.

“Look at these Burberry capri trousers. These were only £10, unfortunately, they weren’t my size but I did love them.

“I’m really jealous of whoever gets to find these and wear them because they are just so fun and perfect for summer.

“Tip four, look out for occasionwear pieces. This top I found for £3 was 100 per cent silk.

“Quite often when someone attends an event, they only wear the outfit once and then they donate it to charity.

“And finally, always check the denim section. I have found so many pairs of Levi’s jeans.

“You can always customise them or have them altered, and look £8 for Levi’s.”

Below the video, she added: “Remember to only buy what you truly love and need.”

Fans loved Monica’s tips, with the video gaining more than 3,100 likes and 80,000 views.

In the comments, her followers shared their thoughts, with one writing: “I love this!!

“No reselling, not buying bigger things to alter them, looking for sustainable pieces, and not overbuying just because: following you!!!!”

Another said: ”Amazing tips! I feel really inspired to look in charity shops.”

A third commented: “OMG those Burberry trousers!”

Others shared their own advice for when shopping secondhand, with someone adding: “My tip is slowly run your hand along the clothes on the rail with your eyes closed and stop when you feel expensive material if u wanna find quality

Another put: “Our tip – always check the men’s section!!!”
