Riley Keough has stepped out on the red carpet for the first time since the death of her mother Lisa Marie Presley.

The 33-year-old was joined by her husband Ben Smith-Petersen on Thursday evening at the premiere of new Amazon Prime Video show Daisy Jones & The Six in Los Angeles, California.

She stepped out in a plunging satin black gown and simple black pumps, along with matching gloves and emerald green earrings as she stood alongside her stuntman beau.

It marked the first time she’s stepped out on a red carpet since Lisa Marie died aged 54 on January 12 after she opted to skip an event for Daisy Jones & The Six last week.

She stars in the show, which is set to premiere on March 3, in the title role as the leader of a fictional rock band loosely inspired by Fleetwood Mac.

It’s adapted by Taylor Reid Jenkins’ best-selling novel of the same name, and Kiley previously admitted her character reminded her of her mother.

Back in December, she told People: ‘My mother is certainly an inspiration to me,’ hailing her as a ‘very strong, smart woman’.

She added: ‘I was raised by somebody who did their own thing and didn’t really care what other people thought. She was definitely inspirational to me.’

Meanwhile, she has also opened up about the idea of the show continuing her family’s rich musical legacy, while insisting she saw the role more as a chance to create her own personal bond with playing music.

‘I certainly wouldn’t put that pressure on it. I don’t know if there is continuing my grandfather’s legacy, it’s its own sort of thing to me. But it was a really fun experience for me,’ she told Entertainment Tonight.

‘I’m not a musician – or I am now I guess. I’ve been interested in film my whole life and so for me, it was more really loving to get to have a relationship with music in that way.’

In January this year, Lisa Marie, the only child of music legend Elvis Presley, died at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest.

In a statement, her mother Priscilla Presley said: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.’

Lisa Marie had four children – Riley, born in 1989; Benjamin Keough, who was born in 1992 and died in 2020 aged 27; and twins Harper Lockwood and Finley Lockwood, born in 2008.

Following her death, Riley, 33, paid emotional tribute, sharing a black-and-white photo of them together alongside a red heart in the caption.
