Stacey Solomon has given fans another update on her home renovations – and she’s got a brilliant helper in the form of one-year-old son Rex.

The Loose Women star, 31, shared some videos of Rex getting stuck in to some DIY with her at their new home, and he definitely seems to be following in his handy mother’s footsteps.

She told her followers: ‘Rex’s bed came today – I still haven’t finished my wall stickers – but we are going to put it together.’

Rex could be seen using a screwdriver on one of the panels before he helped tap in a wooden dowel with a big hammer.

Stacey admitted: ‘Ok so three hours later and I’m nowhere near finishing because Rex wanted to do every little bit and I love letting him help.

‘Also I missed him lots today so I thought I might as well just make a game of it. There’s always tomorrow.’

Later on, little Rex could be seen all tired out from his hard work as he snoozed on Stacey while she shared a comment from a follower who had told her that Rex’s DIY skills were better than her fiancé Joe Swash’s had been.

‘He’s much better at DIY than Joe is or ever will be!’, Stacey laughed.

Despite the sterling job Rex (and Stacey) had done on the cabin bed, Stacey later revealed that she no longer likes the design of that bed for Rex’s room.

She admitted: ‘I thought I’ll do the bed and I can actually finish it as he’s asleep. And now I’ve got to the bit where I’ve just got the slats left to put in and I step back and… I don’t think it looks right in here.’

All was not lost, however, as Stacey revealed that she would instead be using the bed in eight-year-old son Leighton’s room instead.

Stacey explained: ‘It’s mainly because it takes up the whole room but I’m thinking it’ll look really nice in Leighton’s room – he’s got the right shaped room for it so I’m going to try and take bits of it down and move it into there.’

She and Joe have been renovating their new house – a £1.2million house they have dubbed Pickle Cottage – with Stacey sharing much of the process online.
