Primark fan raging after spotting size 8 and size 18 skirts with the SAME size waistband – & others are weighing in too

A PRIMARK shopper has revealed the brand uses different sizing for clothes with identical waistbands.

It’s no secret that sizing differs across countless high street retailers – and Primark is no exception.

Unfortunately, this is what one fashion fan, Hayley Quinn, discovered the hard way – and she took to TikTok to rage about it.

Whilst browsing around the store, Hayley stumbled upon two different styles of skirt – a denim mini skirt and a cute cargo skirt in khaki.

The first one was a UK size 8, whereas the latter was a UK size 18.

Then, she demonstrated in the video, compared the two by putting the smaller one in front of the cargo skirt.

”Look at this – it’s magic. It’s the same f***ing size.

”Primark, why you doing this?”

Desperate for answers, Hayley tagged the brand in the caption, explaining this gives her ”trust issues”.

Although many then reckoned this had something to do with the elastic band of the size 18 garment, Hayley felt there was something more to it.

”that doesn’t captain explain 5 sizes.”

Fellow Primark fans flocked to comments to share their thoughts and experience with the popular retailer.

”Primark forever contributing to body dysmorphia all over the world,” one said.

Someone else called for change too, writing: ”Primark sizing has become wack, especially the denim!

”I’m size 10 in one pair and a 16 in another?!”

”According to primark I’m a 22+ in jeans and my body dysmopbia [dysmorphia] is WILD,” a style enthusiast added.

It appears it’s not just Primark giving customers a hard time – its rival H&M is no better, according to some.

”This and H&M…bought a size 12 which was the same size as my friends’ size 8.”

Recently another woman reminded fashionistas that measurements vary greatly between stores.

Sophie Shakeshaft modelled all her size 12 trousers in one video, setting out to prove we shouldn’t look for validation in clothes sizes.

In the clip, Sophie tries on trousers from Topshop, ASOS, PrettyLittleThing and Boohoo, all of which are a size 12 and fit her body in completely different ways.

First, she wore ASOS Tall lilac jogging bottoms, which fit like a glove.

But the very next shots showed Sophie in Boohoo jeans and a pair of Topshop leather trousers, both in a size 12, one of which was far too large and the other too small.

Pretty Little Thing’s size 12 trousers were a good fit on the tall blonde, while ASOS mom jeans came up large on the waist.

Sophie concluded the video by telling viewers: “Notice my body didn’t change size once during this video!

“Don’t put value on your clothes size baby girl.”

The 21-year-old’s video has received an outpouring of support online, racking up more than 39,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

One viewers commented: “This made me feel so much better, thank you so much for making this.”

A second said: “I needed this. Going to start buying the size that fits best in that piece of clothing. I would normally feel paranoid if my usual size doesn’t fit me.”

Sophie replied to the comment saying: Yes to this! Comfort is key – no one can see the label and the label doesn’t matter!”
