I chop up tights and wear them as tops – I’m known as the Pantyhose Queen but they look good

A FASHIONISTA has revealed that she turns her old pairs of tights into tops.

Gabriela Recalde is known as the Pantyhose Queen for her impressive handiwork with scissors and tights.

Her latest five minute creation was a halter-neck topTikTok/@gabriela.recalde

All it requires is some tights you no longer want and a sharp pair of scissors.

Gabriela started by cutting the tights above the crotch to create a bandeau-style top.

She put this on and used the stretch of the tights to pull the top over her chest and stomach.

Then, she cut a horizontal slit underneath her boobs and cut the tight legs in two.

Using one of the tight legs, she folded it in half and knotted it around the slit.

The two pieces left dangling from the knot were used to tie the top up behind her neck, creating a halter-neck style.

The stretchy nature of tights means the halter-neck section pulls the slit upwards and creates a cut-out in the middle of the top.

Gabriela dubbed the style a “pantyhose crop top” and assured viewers it was easy to recreate.

Fellow fashion fans flocked to the comments to weigh in on the new design… which looked a far cry from its original state as tights.

One penned: “I already know what to do with the old leggings.

“Thanks for sharing this wonderful idea.”

Another beamed that Gabriela was the “DIY Queen” while others called the design “beautiful”.

One viewer joked: “The Pantyhose Queen strikes again.”

Some Tik Tok users picked up on the design being perfect for summer months.

One woman said: “This is my favourite time of year.

“All the DIY summer tops.”

Gabriela has previously used tights to make long-sleeve crop tops, one shoulder numbers and bralettes.

Her most recent video has totted up over 1.5 million views and a whopping 88,000 likes.
